Devolutions = New Gold Sponsor

[adrotate banner=”4″]

I’m pleased to announce that Devolutions is our new gold sponsor.
Now they have a free tool I’ve been using for sometime now after @dszp (who one the first people I connected to in twitter) told me about this wonderful software for allowing me to manage my RDP sessions like a local connection broker called Remote Desktop Manager

Actually what I found was it was so much more… not only does it have the ability to broker RDP sessions but has built in other clients too like: vCenter, Radmin, PC-Anywhere, Citrix, Telnet, VNC…… the list is end-less…

Endless connections

Remember back in the day we all use to use Veeam FastSCP well this is one of those most have tools. But my use case around the RDP connections was to make my life easier. You know how sometimes it can irritating when you have to break out the RDP (mstsc.exe) into command line just to switch to admin mode or change the RDP port???? well no more if you use Remote Desktop Manager.

“Pimp my vLab”

Mike Laverick recently made aware of a nice alternative to home labs. I have an extensive home lab at home so I think it’s too late for me now but I did contemplate getting a hosted lab rather than kill my electricity and upset the wife. But too late for me but not for you. Check out Mike’s article here:

Quote:

“When I was in Australia recently for the Sydney/Melbourne VMUG I had the chance to meet Alastair Cooke – and sit in on his presentation on AutoLab. Alastair is a VMware Certified Instructor (VCI) based in New Zealand, and is one of the hosts of the APAC VMTN Communities Podcast. In case you don’t know AutoLab is tool that will build for you using scripts a vSphere Lab environment – and its based on the principle of “nested ESX” or “vESX” – where ESX is run in VM on a physical ESX host. It’s was updated in Dec, 2012 to support vSphere 5.1.”
