VMturbo = First Gold Sponsor

[adrotate banner=”3″]

I’m pleased to announce VMturbo as the first Gold sponsor . We’d looked at VMturbo at Canopy and thought it looked cool and had some advantages because of its hooks into vCloud.

VMTurbo’s is a Software-Driven Control platform that enables organizations to manage cloud and enterprise virtualization environments to assure application performance while maximizing infrastructure efficiency. What VMTurbo told me is they take a market-based approach to dynamically examine real-time performance characteristics, resource capacity, system constraints and service level priorities across the environment to determine, implement and adjust resource configurations and workload placement. This drives the necessary actions to bring the environment into a healthy state where performance is assured while maximizing efficiency — and keep it there as demands fluctuate— quickly, automatically, continuously and efficiently. VMTurbo enables enterprises to meet service levels and business goals, and is the only technology capable of closing the loop in IT operation by automating the decision-making process to control the environment in a healthy state.

So we all know I’m big on automation right now and this takes automation to a new level. Lets not automate just new stuff but automate the old stuff too.

As cloud and virtual environments grow in complexity, enterprises need a new approach to ensure that the best decisions are being made throughout the entire infrastructure, keeping everything running smoothly in real time.  VMTurbo’s patented technology is the only way to automate this process – enabling companies to fully harness the power of virtualization.

VMTurbo also has a 30 Day Free Trial of their Operations Manager product here.

vCAC 6 Repo404 simple fix

Once again I find installing vCAC 6 a test…… I kept running into a Repo404 error Service Unreachable. I followed the same guides I’d followed before to get it working but could not get past this error. I found references to it at places like http://www.virtualizationteam.com/cloud/vcac-6-service-unreachable-reference-error-repo404.html and in the release notes but the fixes documented were not working for me. I knew it was related to certificates but I was using the self generated ones from the appliances. So this is what I did. On my vCAC IaaS server I fired IE up as an administrator > pointed it to my vCAC appliance i.e. https://vcac-appliance and installed the certificate in the registry part of the Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Reset IIS and bobs your uncle…WHAM…Working!

Certificate from vCAC 6 VA

Installl Cert
